Private Voice Lessons

Your First Singing Lesson:

For me to guide you in developing your singing voice, it's important that I gather some initial information about you and how your voice functions. In your first lesson with me, I will ask you to tell me about the kind of music you sing, your musical background, and the vocal issues you'd like help with. Feel free to send me an email with some of this info before your first lesson!

Early in the lesson I will also ask you to do a basic vocal exercise which will give me a good idea of how your voice currently functions. I may ask you to sing a few lines of any song you know, which will give me some insight about how your voice works in practice. (The actual song you sing doesn't matter at all - it can be Amazing Grace or America, the Beautiful, or anything.)

After these diagnostic exercises, we'll discuss some basic goals for your singing, and then we get right to achieving them! I'll introduce some specific exercises designed to bring you closer to your goals!

Voice Lesson Rates:

• 1/2 hour lesson: $40
• 3/4 hour lesson: $60
• 1 hour lesson: $80

For prepayment of 5 lessons at once, there is a 5% discount off the above rates. 

For prepayment of 10 lessons at once, there is a 10% discount off the above rates. 
 

Voice Lesson Recording:

Bring a standard SD card to create an audio recording of your lesson. I have equipment that will record your lesson to SD card.   I encourage you to use this recording to practice vocal exercises at home.

To Cancel Your Voice Lesson:

Please provide 48 hours notice if you're going to miss a lesson.  If you cancel within 24 hours, I would appreciate payment for the lesson time, since I have dedicated that slot in my schedule and it would be too late to offer that time to another student.
